A great new item…..

Img_0863 Found these cool index card books at Target. I am a list girl. I work so much better with Lists, and just love going to bed with everything crossed off for the day! These are color coded and easy to tear. Fits perfect in my purse…. with a zig pen. Ok, I’m a nerd. We already know that though right? I get happy over little things like this. I spent the other day washing my down pillows. I did not know you could do this… I must have missed that Martha Stewart episode. You don’t even want to know how long Ive had my favorite pillows. I  am not saying I don’t wash my sheets or pillow cases, once or twice a week in fact.  What I am saying is I thought the pillows got ruined in the wash. Well I chose the wrong time to air dry them. They were the saddest looking things when they came out of the wash, so I hung them to dry. Well wouldn’t you know it, I was in the middle of grocery shopping and heard that it was raining outside. I mean really raining! As I was walking out I looked at a convertible parked and was just thinking how bummed that poor chap is going to be when he sees his car all soaked….. and then I thought of those pillows! I flew home and you guessed it, all in the mud on the ground! I washed them again and put them in the dryer. Martha didn’t tell me I could dry them in there, but I did anyways. It took forever for those suckers to dry! But they are fluffy and as good as new! So please! wash those pillows! Mom would be proud. It is one more day before a busy School year for me. I did get a chance to put things in my ETSY. Here are the newest additions:Img_0858 Img_0857

I will be adding more things throughout out the week. Hope everyone is happy today!

If you put some tennis balls in the dryer with the pillows it helps with the drying.

Too funny…I wash my pillows and always put them in the dryer, I never thought about them getting ruined!(oops) Luckily they haven’t…

I wash my down pillows and down comforter with a pair of white Keds and a little bit of powder fabric bleach, Purex. I have a front loader, so the washing space is lots bigger that a top loader.
Then I put the Keds and all the down items in the dryer, with a few more clean tennis balls. Halfway through the dryer cycle I take out the items and fluff and rearrange the wet down. It takes a few cycles but everything comes out pretty fluffy. Put all the down items outside to get a fresh breeze regularly, too.
Try it again with a front loader or a giant commercial machine at the laudromat.
And remember, Martha has large house staff at each of her many homes…
